A freelance writer and journalist, David has written for newspapers
and magazines for many years. He has been writing online since 1997 and was responsible for establishing a creative digital technology network for freelancers and small businesses in Cornwall. He was also a local Councillor in Middlesbrough in North-East England for over a decade and is a former parliamentary
candidate for the Labour Party.
Born in Dundonald, Ayrshire in Scotland, educated
at Marr College in Troon, Kilmarnock Academy and the University of Teesside, he has been a Kilmarnock supporter
all his life. Having lived in Scotland, Teesside, London and Cornwall at various times, David now lives in County Durham with his wife, journalist & psychologist Josephine Gardiner.
The 'Complete Scottish Football History' series
is the result of years of painstaking research which has taken David
to libraries and bookshops all over the UK. This has been a work
'in progress' for over twenty years which can now, thanks to the
world wide web, be made available to the public for the first time
