The success Chelsea enjoyed when Graham Rix was there came when he was employed in a similar role to the one he'll have at Tynecastle. He is a highly regarded coach - that's the key, in my view, - not a manager and if he's given a chance he may well prosper under a Director of Football (Vialli?) I t...

And something, not quite sure what, makes me think that McInally was Alan "I used to play for Bayern Munich" McInally's dad. I think you're right Bobby. Jackie McInally is Alan's dad. Alan doesn't like to remind his great, good personal friends that he used to play for Bayern in Munich in Germany.....

Just When You Think You've Seen it All
In 37 years of following the Hearts I've seen more ups and downs than David Blunkett's guide dog. But just when you think you've seen it all, the Tynecastle chiefs come up with something else to make you reach for the prozac... None of us ordinary fans know the reason(s) why George Burley has left H...

I used to subscribe to WSC in the days when it was mildly amusing. Indeed I contributed to a couple of issues some years back. I stopped buying it when the humour was replaced by too many budding Nick Hornbys and the mag began to take itself rather too seriously. Its coverage of Scottish football wa...

There's no doubt that football is overpriced, particularly when compared to some other aspects of the 'entertainment industry'. It's interesting to note that attendances in the FA Premiership are down just as that league is now being dominated by Chelsea. The rows of empty seats at Saturday's Sunder...

Another World Cup qualifying campaign draws to a close. Another failure for Scotland. Growing up in the 1970s, fans like me were spoiled by a national team which regularly qualified for the World Cup finals. Players such as Kenny Dalglish, Joe Jordan and Graeme Souness could grace most national team...

[quote="Alan McCabe"]First-class debating guys.quote] Indeed, Alan. I look forward to several Hibees joining the argument - can't think of anyone better for mass debaters....... I know there's a lot of questions unanswered about Romanov. But the bottom line is, without his involvement, Tynec...

HibLog - you sound far too intelligent to be a Hibby! A very reasonable argument from yourself and Bobby S. No one is suggesting Hearts debt has gone away but it's worth remembering that without Vladimir Romanov, Hearts would be finished. Selling Tynecastle and moving to Murrayfield without an alter...
