Re: Piet Odijk
With thanks to Egon Zweers of the Football Lineups and Results Research Facebook group: Peter Hendrikus (Piet) Odijk was a reserve goalkeeper several times in 1931-32 at the Dutch team. One time he was actually under the bar. The Netherlands - Belgium (2-3), played on 14 February 1932 at the Olympic...

Re: East of Scotland League 1966-67 and 1972-73
It is very puzzling! IF Edin Uni's record is missing solely because of a typo then I reckon they would have needed to have completed all their fixtures to balance the table, ie P28 W11 D7 L10 Pts 29, but the goals wouldn't tally. Is it possible they were excluded from the final table for some reason...

East of Scotland League 1966-67 and 1972-73
I've put up a page of EOSL tables, http://sfha.org.uk/eosltables.pdf and two seasons have flummoxed me. In 1966-67, Raith reserves qualified for the championship section but I have no note of their record. The table I have has the other seven clubs playing 6 or 8 matches so the table is not final bu...

Re: Scottish Football Historical Archive
A quick update. I've heeded some very helpful advice and registered a new domain name, http://sfha.org.uk . After making a new home page I added some seasonal files from 1873 to 1890 and will add the remaining 19th Century results over the coming weeks. I will also be tidying up the many other files...

Re: King Cup 1889-90
I don't have results for five ties including Cowden/Adventurers. The matches and byes in bold are ones I cannot confirm. First round 9 Nov Townhill v Dunfermline Athletic 0-2 9 Nov Burntisland Thistle v Lassodie 3-0 9 Nov Penicuik Athletic v Cameron Highlanders 3-3 16 Nov Penicuik Athletic v Cameron...

Re: King Cup 1889-90
If the 9 May report is assumed to be correct then .. Raith had to have scratched to them in R1 and the Cowden/Raith tie in R2 actually WASN'T a King Cup tie. Bellstane, Cowdenbeath and Broxburn would then all have received byes to make an 8 club R3. Bellstane subsequently had a walkover against Allo...

King Cup 1889-90
I'm looking at the above competition and noted that Raith Rovers were drawn against Bellstane Birds in the first round. I haven't been able to find a reference to this match being played but it is noted Cowdenbeath beat Raith 6-2 on 7 December 1889 in round 2. The trouble is Bellstane then appeared ...
