Re: RSSSF Scotland records - changes
Cheers bluedragon, glad you found that useful. Yes, I did notice the suggestion that William Sellar put forward the idea. Other reports, however, suggested it may have been Walter Arnott the Queen's Park and Scotland captain. It was alleged that this would be Arnott's last season at Queen's Park as ...

Re: RSSSF Scotland records - changes
Not sure if this counts as an unofficial Scotland match, however, on the 21st March 1891 a Scotland International XI played Corinthians at Hampden Park. Queen's Park were due to play Corinthians in their traditional match but the Queen's Park committee, at a meeting on 18th March 1891, took the unpr...

Re: Scottish Football Historical Archive
Thanks for the update, Brian, I fully understand your position and hope that things improve for yourself and family in the very near future.
The point you raised, Alan, as regards possible financial support is a good one. I would also be willing to contribute.

Scottish Football Historical Archive
Has the Scottish-football-historical-archive moved again? The last link I had to the site is scottish-football-historical-archive.co.nf, however it seems that link no longer exists. Does anyone have a new link?
Many thanks.
Many thanks.

Highland League Results
Can anyone out there help me find the results of every Highland League match since it began in 1893? The official website only goes back to season 2003/04. I was sure Brian’s SFHA website or the RSSSF website had such an archive but this appears not to be the case. Any help on this will be most appr...

As a an addition to the above post, Dundee United’s Sam Stanton’s 15th minute goal against Dumbarton on the 28th October 2017 was the 94,000th Second Tier League goal.

100,000th Top Tier League Goal
Here is a little snippet that seems to have passed everyone by. On the 13th of December 2017, Scott Sinclair’s 41st minute goal in a League match against Hamilton Academical was the 100,000th Top Tier (Scottish League, Division 1, Division A, Premier Division, SPL and SPFP) League goal. Another feat...

Here We Go Again
Yet again we have another brouhaha brewing with fixture anomalies following the split. Anyone with a basic understanding of maths will know that splitting the league into two halves anytime before or after the half way point will cause anomalies. For a League official to come out and say that any fi...

Football: Our Winter Game
During my research on football in Springburn, I came across an article in an August 1874 edition of the Scotsman. It was a review of a book just published by Charles W. Alcock, honorary secretary of the F. A., called "Football: Our Winter Game". The subject matter is tracing the history, the origins...

Re: Maley's Record Still Remains Unbeaten
Yes Alan the Glasgow competitions were fiercely contested in those days, which is why they should not be ignored from a competitive point of view. The Glasgow Cup semi-final in that sequence attracted some 60,000 to Celtic Park – much higher than any of the League matches played. Rob, if we count Ce...
