James " Jimmy " Thomson

Was manager of Swansea Town 1927/31,apparently he was Scottish. I cannot find any information on him, where he was born and when, clubs played for and managed etc. He led Swansea Town on a historic tour of Spain and Portugal in 1927 where they beat Real Madrid 3-0.

How long was he at Queen of the South Wanderers? I know he won his only cap whilst their in March 1889, I believe he also played for the English league team when he was down south.

Re: 1928 Scottish Schoolboys

Hi Snuff, its interesting David raises the question of age. I'm researching the guy who was captain of England that day, there is very little info on his early life. But what I have seen is that he " stayed on at school" to play for, and captain England schoolboys v Scotland in 1928.He was born in Oct...

Re: mystery photo

Hi mad Mac,that's what I thought. I live in Portugal and I've showed the photo around,no one recognises it. Apparently at this time there were not many football fields with grass in Portugal. The coach also worked in Norway and Holland, the goalkeeper looks like he comes from there more than Portugal
