Shawfield's pitch

I just remember that the club/change facilities for Shawfield Amateurs playing field was not on the sidelines of the pitch like most customary enclosed grounds, but was offset about two hundred yards away plus or minus. scottish junior's game referee

Tommy Thomson was a junior league referee in the 50's and possibly the 60's in Glasgow and surroundings. Does anyone have any background information of any kind for this official.
