Re: Scotland/World Cup

I would agree that Scotland have a better talent pool than Northern Ireland or Wales. Wales are awful without Bale and Northern Ireland are, well, just awful. I've never rated Strachan as a manager. He relegated Coventry after 34 years in the top flight. He failed at Middlesbrough after signing a lo...

Re: Scotland/World Cup

The Group of Dearth as David Tanner called it on Sky Sports - possibly the only clever thing he's ever said. I think when players like Steven Naismith and Ross McCormack are sitting at home whilst Barry Bannan runs around the pitch, you have to ask questions of the manager. It seemed to me that Andr...

Re: BARCA 7, CELTIC 0

I knew it had to be Rangers fault somehow.

Their manager should be embarrassed. The day you shrug off a 7-0 defeat is the day you're in trouble.

Championship v Premiership

Interesting stat on BT Sport before the Falkirk-Kilmarnock match. Head-to-heads between Championship and Premiership teams this season has produced - Played 26 Championship wins 12 Premiership wins 10 Draws 4 I wonder if this has ever happened before over the course of a season. I've certainly becam...

Re: The Offshore Game

An alternative viewpoint - http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/index.php?/topic/295386-uefa-licence-2011-time-to-put-this-to-bed/&page=1 Perhaps the reason it hasn't been touched by anyone sensible is that it's complete nonsense motivated by small minded bigots. That would be my guess. Even their ow...

Re: Quickest hat-trick

I always thought Ian St John held this record in Scotland. The article below says a Tommy Ross of Ross County bettered it in 1964 but, in the senior game, St. John appears to still hold the record.

Re: Hall of Fame

I guess the SFA one is at least honest. Sun Jihai inducted into the English Hall of Fame.

Re: Must be a Foul - TV says so

We had a referee's strike in 2010 brought on by the pressures and insinuations from one club - supported by the OP - then I would suggest the OP is barking in the wrong direction. It's not the media that are driving referees out the game and causing strikes. One club has created the climate where re...

Re: Hall of Fame

World class at what, though? Certainly not the game that the men are playing. I do not dissent with any criticism of Gary Clodwell but the reality is that he played at a much, much higher level of football for Scotland than those ladies, or indeed most people, ever will. The purpose of any Hall of F...

Re: McCOIST

Rejoice at this news, LS. Although, with only 3 months remaining on the contract, it's doubtful whether Rangers made much of a saving in this 'settlement'. I can only imagine someone finally got through to McCoist that he would be doing himself a long-term favour if he was seen to be co-operative. h...

Re: McCOIST

He is still being paid, yes. As he has just over 3 months left on his contract, it looks like he'll simply see this out. He refused attempts to settle earlier in the year.

Re: Greed is God

We're three years on from this thread and with Rangers gone, the voting structure changed and (perhaps most importantly) prize money distributed a bit more equitably, I'm curious to see any major differences in crowds from 2011-12 to 2014-15. I'm pretty sure the voting structure hasn't changed. Abe...
