He wasn't playing in Scotland at the time (though neither was Hewie) but Barney Battles Jnr is also a dual internationalist, having played for the USA v Canada in 1925 while with Boston, then Scotland v Wales in 1931 with Hearts

Does anyone know the identity of the 13 men who actually travelled to Switzerland. Obviously Martin, Cunningham, Aird, Docherty, Davidson, Cowie, McKenzie, Fernie, Mochan, Brown and Ormond played in both games, while I am pretty sure George Hamilton also travelled, as a replacement for Bobby Johnsto...

Liam Brady had never appeared in Scottish football before his appointment as Celtic boss. Although he didn't exactly "cross the Irish Sea directly", as he had been playing in England and Italy for the best part of 20 years.

Has Ankara EVER had representation in the European Cup/ECL?

I think only the big 3 from Istanbul and Trabzonspor have won the Turkish title - Gençlerbirliği and Ankaragücü certainly haven't.

Although you might argue that Ankara isn't really a European capital...
