Re: The Sunday Post at BNA
I just picked an issue at random http://londonhearts.com//scores/images/1935/1935101207.jpg Is this what you were working with when you copied to your site? I guess it helps to preserve the papers if they're bound this way, but maybe they could have been unbound when they were scanned. There may be...

Re: Gateshead FC & the Scottish League
Even today, infact, SFL only insists you apply to become an SFA Associate member within 14 days of joining. SPL, for example, demand Full membership upfront. And all clubs to play in Scotland "save in the case of Berwick Rangers FC" :P. So you have only to apply. Does that mean that you can still g...

Re: Gateshead FC & the Scottish League
Maybe, but that part agrees with my own memory, both as to the fact of it happening and the date range. My source was either the Daily Mirror or Grandstand.Heed Boy wrote: Don't take too much notice of the club's website though, the history section is riddled with mistakes.

Re: Gateshead FC & the Scottish League
I remember an attempt that was earlier than 1974. I don’t think it was a formal application but I have no details. There are passing references at a few websites such as http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/2321397/Gatesheads-goal-is-return-to-the-League.html The club’s own website places the f...

Re: Scottish Football Records
Obviously a large number of records will not have changed, some attendances, some record wins and so on. However a growing online record could tap into other details such as records for current divisions, attendance records for all grounds, even records for current and defunct non-league competitio...

Re: League reconstruction
Self interest will see the smaller division being accepted. Steve Whose? Of all the clubs that have played in the SPL under the current format, only three have never finished in what would be a potential relegation position under the proposed changes. Every other SPL club faces a much greater chanc...

Re: League reconstruction
The proposal is for a 36 game season with the split near the end being abolished. That will mean each club getting four OF matches instead of some getting four and some three. Self interest will see the smaller division being accepted.

Also Morton were officially known as Greenock Morton in the 1990s. Which has led to confusion ever since. They still appear under G in footymad results but M with football 365 for instance. If they'd called themselves Greenock or Greenock United it would probably have worked. Keeping Morton in the ...

Congrats to Kris Boyd.
But was a second record set? Was this also the best score by a team down to ten men?

Attendance 269. What on earth happened to the other 1,500 (based on the average so far this season)?

It's easy for a club to finish rock-bottom and be terrible, but (it should be) much harder for the clubs in the higher tiers... In fact many of the Scottish League's worst performances were set in the top division. Starting with 1893-94 when the second division was founded the progressive record is...

Included are the playing records of the member clubs for a decade from 1875 and then again for the first few years of the 1890s
What happened to the years 1885 to 1890?

HibeeJibee 2 records set by Senior (though not Scottish League) clubs - which I'd be interested if anyone can disprove. (1) Easthouses Lily are the first club in the history of Scottish Senior football to be relegated without a negative GD; and (2) Peebles -112 GD is the worst ever of any relegated ...
