Re: Clydebank's Record Attendance
Thanks for that David. The Evening Times lists the Easter Road 'estimated attendance' as 9,000. I assume that the 14,900 figure has originated from the club. Your second point was my next issue. Like I say that attendance has always been listed as Clydebank's record attendance, but if it's accepted ...

However, reports in the Evening Times, Glasgow Herald and Clydebank Press all report the attendance as 11,500. I wondered if...

19th April 1972
I’m doing a project on the evening of the 19th of April 1972, when Rangers played Bayern Munich in the semi-final of the ECWC and across Glasgow, Celtic played Inter Milan in the EC semi-final. I’d love to hear from anyone who has memories of that night. If you went to one of the games or if you wat...

Re: Debut hat-tricks
Kris Boyd scored a hat-trick on his Rangers debut versus Peterhead in the third round of the Scottish Cup on the 7th January 2006. I mind it cos I happened to be at that game. Wayne Rooney scored a hat-trick for Manchester United on his debut against Fenerbahçe in the Champions League on 28th Septem...

Just cos I started listing them all in my head, I think this is the complete list of Scottish teams in Europe and their first appearance. Hibernian - European Cup 1955/56 Rangers – European Cup 1956/57 Hearts – European Cup 1958/59 Dunfermline – European Cup Winners' Cup 1961/62 Dundee – European Cu...

A real tragedy. It seems that everyone who encountered him said he was a friendly big guy. I was down at Dumbarton to watch them thump Elgin City to all but clinch the Third Division title. Gordon Lennon had a great game that day and he was right at the front of the celebrations. As I snapped my cam...
