The Shire v St Johnstone Cup tie in 1968/9 got an unexpectedly large crowd as it was one of the few games played that day. Falkirk had no game.
I was chatting to a neighbour recently - a Dunfermline fan - and he was at the game, the Pars tie at Aberdeen having been called off the previous day.

Re: Crowd query
Dumbarton gave loads of home crowds as 4000 that season. 7 League games, against Clyde, Dunfermline, Aberdeen, Ayr, Partick, Hearts and Hibs all reported a crowd of 4000.
In reality these varied from 2852 v Hibs to 4093 v Partick. I don't have an accurate figure for the Clach game.

According to the South China Morning Post, the 4 matches Santos played in Hong Kong in 1970 were all against select sides, so not against Hong Kong Rangers. They played a Hong Kong XI, HK Chinese XI and 2 games against different Hong...

Re: GROUND RIGHTS
There are two comparatively recent examples of ties being reversed to the opponents ground. Meadowbank Thistle v Hibernian in the Scottish Cup was played at Easter Road in 1978/9. I know as I was there. No idea what the financial arrangements were. The following year they were drawn together again a...

Re: New Alloa Athletic Book
There isn't any. It covers 1921 onwards.
If people are looking for a comprehensive statistical history then don't buy it. Results are complete but teams / appearances info is patchy.
if they want some stats and plenty of anecdotes then it is just the thing.

Prior to joining Swifts he played for Scone in the Perth City Boys FA. He also played for Dundee United in 1944/5. In the late 80s and early 1990s Swifts held an annual invitation 4-team tournament called the Bill Bremner Trophy, featuring 3 invited clubs and themselves. I attended it on several occ...
