Many thanks for the information. After posting the question I remembered there was a second Glenrothes High School pupil capped in the same period - Robert Marshall (I think he played Left Back for Scotland). How many caps did he achieve? and did he go on to play professional football ?

In the late 60's/early 70's I remember traveling to Hampden and Starks Park to watch James (Pud) Paterson from Glenrothes High School play for Scotland Schools. I know he went on to play for the Pars before serious injury cut short his career but I can't remember how often he was capped at schoolboy...

I have a programme for a Scotland v Scottish League match held at Easter Road on 03 Feb 1958. It was billed as a World Cup Trial.

Can anyone tell me how often Scotland have played against the Scottish League, and what were the results?
