Strictly from memory. I was at Hampden Scotland vs England and Bogan Hibernian outside right carried off. Maybe broken leg.
Johnston came on and scored the first goal of the game but England won 4-1 I think. Believe Frank Swift was England goalie.
Maybe around 1945/46.

Checked Scotlands People for A MacP birth 1905 to 1915 and lots by that name there.

In 1910 only 2 births for subject from Edinburgh and Nairn. No birthplace for any previously
mentioned locales.

Scotlands People site shows 4 deaths of this name but all well over 70 years of age in 1970.

In at least the 1940s and early 1950s "A.N. Other" was not uncommon. I never thought that Junior/Newman and the like was anything other than
just a name fancied by a club.
