Re: Harry Fitzpatrick
A grandson of Harry (Gordon, I think his name is) works as a tour guide at Anfield.

Sandy & Tommy Brown, Glenbuck Cherrypickers
My main interest is in Tommy, since he played for Chesterfield Town. His date of birth has remained elusive so, In order to help find it, I've been looking for them as a pair. Find young Sandy, and young Tommy won't be far behind. Conventional wisdom has them born in Beith; Sandy on 7.4.1879 and Tom...

Re: So, where to now?
What drew my attention was the number of we arra peepul who blithely suggested they should groundshare @ a variety of grounds to keep down running costs rather than use Ibrox. This intrigues me. Are AFC Rangers fans accepting that - what? - a good half of their support won't show until they're back...

Still digging, but as of yet I've found nothing about the Raith game down here.

Dundee tour of Spain, c1924

I've been sent these; one photo of a side named Leith Unitas, and three of Dundee on a tour of Spain that took place while a player named David Robb was on their books. I'd be grateful for date information, and any details of Robb's Dundee career, please.
Cheers

Re: Harry Fitzpatrick
Searching for "Fitzpatrick H" male births between 1875 and 1885 across Scotland as a whole throws up no Harry or Harold and only one Henry, a Dundee birth in 1879. Similarly, the 1901 census produces only one Henry (and no variants;) a 22-year old, living in Edinburgh. Plenty of Hughs, but I can't s...

Re: Harry Fitzpatrick
I looked for Fitzpatrick's birth as above on Scotland's People but was unable to find it. Any Ayrshire search between 1875 and 1885 revealed two Hughs and three Helens, so unless there was something about his private life that Harry wasn't telling us, he isn't there. The Catholic registers produce o...

Re: Kilmarnock and Chesterfield, 1921
Many thanks for those, chaps. I saw the Ardrossan birth in Joyce but couldn't see a likely one on "Scotland's People." I did see a birth in Dreghorn in 1899, but my only reason for liking that is that it is roughly halfway between Ardrossan and Kilmarnock! As regards Stirling, I see a couple: July 1...

Kilmarnock and Chesterfield, 1921
Evening, all. I'm after information on two ex-Killie players who joined Chesterfield in 1921. I set out what I know below: 1) William Stirling. Full-back. According to Litster's registrations disc, he appears to have gone back and forth between Arthurlie and Killie between 1913 and 1920. Joined Ches...

Re: Alex Barrie and Jackie Bovill
Re Jackie Bovill - I've found a death record on the excellent "Scotland's People" website for a John McKeown Bovill, "Professional football player (retired)" who died in Rutherglen on 13th April 1954, aged 68.
