It is correct that he later was a painter and decorator. He died in Wishaw in 1947. Both birthdates are wrong. He was born in Motherwell in 1883. So c30 years when he played his last match for Aberdeen in 1913.
He had played for Motherwell Hearts, Ashfield, Motherwell, Airdrieonians and Liverpool before he had 1 season (1912/13) with Aberdeen. He was only c30 years at the time. Did he play for any other clubs after that? I know he got married in Rubishaw, Aberdeen 31/12-1913.

I see that manager David Pratt also bought 2 other ex LFC players in 1933. Ted Crawford directly from Liverpool. Pat McDade from Yeovil & Petters. McDade never played for Clapton Orient (& Liverpool first team) but was also ass. groundsman 1933-35.
He played for Liverpool (1945-51), Chesterfield (1951/52), Wisbeck Town (1952-54) and Dundee United (1954). He signed from BAOR in Germany in October 1945. He was born 26/12-1920. Did he play for any scottish clubs before or under WW2?
