Re: Old Scottish football ground

Having identified the individuals involved, I've narrowed down the venue to either Gayfield or Ochilview. I'm pretty sure it's not Gayfield...

Edited to add, definitely Ochilview - apparently greyhound racing was held there from 1926-27.

Cheers guys! :P

Old Scottish football ground

Can anyone help identify the location of this pic please? The team is East Fife and the season is either 1929-30 or 1930-31. It looks like a dog racing track in the background...

Re: Consecutive Goalscoring Feats

Unsurprisingly it's Henry Morris who holds the record for East Fife, scoring in 11 consecutive league games between 13th March and 14th August 1948. The same player also scored in 11 consecutive league appearances earlier in 1947-48. More recently Gordon Durie found the net in each of the last 8 lea...

Mystery Medal

We received an enquiry at Bayview about a medal inscripted "J.B.F.C." won by a J. Meek in 1938-39. There was a suggestion that there may be some kind of East Fife connection as there was at one time an East Fife Junior Boys Football Club in existence. They would, however, appear to have only survive...

Re: Jimmy Allan Dundee Utd Mngr

Great detail Cowdenbeather. It also clears up the reference to East Fife in an earlier post, as I have no record of Jimmy playing for East Fife...

Re: British Movietone - East Fife fans rejoice!

Priceless footage of the 1953 League Cup final, now publically available for the first time? I'm amazed, never seen it before. Thistle are in navy blue and white. East Fife look like they're wearing white shirts, black shorts. Anyone confirm colours? Presumably it was all change to facilitate a max...

Neil Brown

Received an email late last night from Neil's wife, informing his friends/ contacts that Neil had died suddenly the previous day. As a fellow anorak/ occasional writer my first port of call for information on opposition players was always Neil's A-Z website. Goodness knows the amount of time and wor...

Re: Bathgate Park, Edinburgh

East Fife's all-time top goalscorer Phil Weir signed from Edinburgh Emmet in 1922 together with Peter Barrett. Another player, Bobby Russell signed the same day (15th May) but I've never managed to confirm if he was also with Emmet, similarly Edinburgh-born Dave Edgar who moved to Bayview earler in ...

Sounds fascinating!
Are these books all available to the general public to view, and is there an online index?
