Can't see Mid Annandale beating Tynecastle, but in any case I think Bonnyrigg Rose may have the record.
They featured in Victorian times and have obviously qualified quite recently by winning the East Region Super League.

Re: PARK or STADIUM
If the sponsors are going to pay me to use their names for grounds I`ll comply(likewise polo shirts & any other clothing) but until they do I`ll continue using the grounds` last "normal" names. See my article in the very last Scottish League Review as to why football grounds are called parks. Apart...

Re: Early Scotland internationalists - new details
Talking of Mossend Swifts, their other international was Robert Boyd with two caps. Thanks to a genealogical message board I've been in touch with a descendant who kindly provided me with his dates: Born 2 July 1867 in Whifflet, died 11 August 1930 in West Calder. His grave is also online: http://w...

Re: Early Scotland internationalists - new details
'e.g. James Ellis of Mossend Swifts wasn't capped it was his brother Dave. What's the background to that? I have to say it is difficult to work it out: When the SFA announced the team to play Ireland on 17 March 1892, it simply said Ellis (Mossend Swifts), and so did the match reports I've seen. Th...

Re: Scottish Cup 1st round info - worse than ever
Edinburgh City's programme today gives the attendance for their game v Shotts Bon Accord at Hannah Park last week as 304.
No attendance announced at Meadowbank this afternoon - my guesstimate is around 250.

Re: Football clubs becoming limited companies
Meadowbank Thistle Football Club became Meadowbank Thistle Football Club Ltd in 1993.
The company subsequently changed it's name to the current Livingston Football Club Ltd in 2002, obviously quite some time after the team on the park.

Debut hat-tricks
Kenny Deuchar grabbed a hat-trick for Livingston on his debut against East Fife on Tuesday. It's unprecedented in the history of Livingston and Meadowbank Thistle. Does anyone know of any other players to have achieved this feat? I am guessing an Old Firm player or two may have done it, possibly qui...

Re: Oldast ground sections in the SPL?
Following on from the "urban myth" re Kilmarnock's main stand (just how old is it, anyway?), it got me thinking about pre-1960s parts of grounds. Ibrox - Main Stand, 1929 Tynecastle - Main stand (post-WW2?) Pittodrie - Main Stand (date?) Fir Park - East Stand (cover dates from 1954, roof replaced i...

Four brothers / triplets on the same side
A wee bit of history at Almondvale tonight when Keaghan, Kyle, Devon and Sheldon Jacobs all featured in our win over Albion Rovers. Keaghan, Kyle and Devon all started the game with Sheldon coming on as a second half sub. The question is whether four brothers have played professionally on the same s...
