I got a mail out from Soccer Books the other day and they are selling it for £19.99.

They've lost their appeal - so now what happens? Is this heading for the courts? I can see the SFL being ripped asunder here... If today's Herald is to be believed and Clyde go into administration within the next week then we are about to see new levels of chaos. If we (Livingston) had been given a...

Auchinleck Talbot centenary brochure
I spotted on a trawl of a few junior club websites that Auchinleck Talbot have produced a 'brochure' to celebrate their centenary. It arrived today and it really is a handsome piece of work, with extremely high production values. It's not a bad read either, although the story of the club is told thr...

Latest: Court hearing tomorrow at 9.30 in the Court of Session, when Livingston is likely to be placed into administration for a second time. The SFL are expected to ask the administrator for assurances about fulfilling the season's fixtures, which won't be given, and the rumour is that the club wil...

The word on the street is that an Administrator will be appointed on Tuesday, but we'll see what happens. Incidentally, a points deduction for entering administration is not automatic within the SFL. Instead, their rulebook allows the Management Committee to deal with these things "as they see fit",...

Still no sign of it on either club's website, the SFL site or the usual places. Another sign of the chaos which ensues at Almondvale at the moment. Proper figures haven't be issued for any of the last three games. The 2876 figure for the Partick game on February 28 is wildly inaccurate. Most folk r...

Re: First Penalty Kick
Is there a record anywhere of the first penalty awarded in Scottish Football I have the first one scored (not necessarily the same) as Alex McCall for Renton away to Leith Athletic in the League on August 22nd 1891. The match report in the Herald describes it as a 'free kick' but that's down to the...

By contrast, the worst penalty shoot-out I have seen was a B&Q Cup semi-final between Hamilton and Meadowbank. After the first five penalties the score was 1-1, and the final score after seven penalties was just 2-1 to Hamilton. I still feel the pain of that one. I think we had about 4 kicks to win...
