You should submit a review to Amazon , as the three people who have done so already seem to think it's the greatest thing they've ever read. Back of the net! I agree - it really is worth submitting genuine reviews to Amazon. Their review system is abused by publishers who submit fantastic re...

This is really terrific, well done for such a great piece of research. I can fill in some of the gaps from various sources 1947/48 There is a note about a possible abandonment of Edinburgh City v Forfar on Oct 11 - however, on this day Edinburgh City were playing a Qualifying Cup match at Stranraer....

I've got a copy of the booklet on Bo'ness. If you want me to send you a photocopy, that's easy enough - just send me a pm with your contact details.

There are a couple of good reviews on Amazon from the Hibs official site and from Andy Mitchell. It was only on reading this post that I realised my name had been put against a review on Amazon. However, in an email to the publishers I gave my comments with lengthy list of reservations - similar to...

Yes, he was the same player. According to John Litster's Record of Scottish League Players, Robert Cumming played two games for Albion Rovers in 71/72, one start and one as sub, having joined the club from Airdrie Academy. Date of birth 7/12/1955. He then went to Baillieston Juniors, and signed for ...

The official attendance was 59,197.

This was the figure confirmed to UEFA by the club.

I don't know where the higher figure came from, but it is clearly unrealistic given the loss of seats for segregation.

C Division - is there a comprehensive source?

I was recently trying to look up some results from the C Division days, and of course it was not easy.

The final tables are all published, but has anyone ever managed to compile a complete set of results and (even better) match dates? It would be a great boon to have this available.

Peterhead book

I've just come across a great wee book on Peterhead FC, even though it was published four years ago. Called 'Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory' it is by George Ritchie, former club secretary. It is A5 paperback with 200 pages, and covers the years from 1946 up to 2002 when it was published, inc a fair n...

I've checked the SFA registration records for these players, and thought you might like to know the precise dates: Tommy McLean signed for Rangers on 16 June 1971, and the date of registration is the following day. So he was still a Killie player for the game against Denmark. Dave McPherson is liste...
