Re: FA Cup in the raw.

Without go inn into it all, Alloa couldn't have known at the start of the season they would be playing in the semi-finals whereas Cowdenbeath expected a league game. Better fixture programming which allotted home games to Rangers on cup tie weekends would have prevented this. We'll see what happens...

Re: FA Cup in the raw.

Dumbarton are not erecting temporary stands, they say that it's not feasible under planning regulations in a residential area or something. Not sure of the detail but they ruled it out in the summer. "Residential area?" That must mean they wouldn't be able to build permanent stands either. Without ...

Re: FA Cup in the raw.

Yes, Alloa was under 3,000 and I am aware of the Dumbarton capacity. In the past two seasons clubs have erected temporary stands to meet demand for Rangers tickets. I'm not sure if Dumbarton are planning the same but would be surprised if they weren't. For what it's worth I had a quick skirt around...

Re: FA Cup in the raw.

Aye ok, it's not a "bye" it's a delayed entry. Semantics. The point was we, and the other three Championships clubs in that position, do not play in that round. It's not semantics. You knew before the season started which round you entered in, as did every other club in the league. The only clubs t...

Re: FA Cup in the raw.

It's not really a bye as it's quite clear that the exemptions until round four are the twelve Premiership clubs from there previous season plus the top four from the Championship. This has been the case since 1964-65 though the rounds have changed as has the number of exemptions. From 1964-65-1999-...

Re: FA Cup in the raw.

I think I'm right in saying all clubs in the Scottish Cup get some kind of payment regardless of result. The Scottish Cup pays out to participators in each tie. There is a payment for playing in that round, not for winning the match. There is no "prize" per se for winning any Scottish Cup tie (exce...

Re: Scotland 1-0 Georgia 11th October 2014 Attendance

I've seen a figure quoted of 850 grand being paid to Rangers/The Rangers/Sevco/Newco for ground rental. Can anyone confirm, or otherwise? I seriously doubt it and would hope not. Assuming an average price of £40 (inc season tickets), revenue for Saturday's match would be around £1.4M. On the figure...

Re: Scotland 1-0 Georgia 11th October 2014 Attendance

A precise figure was announced during the second half over the PA. I have to admit I didn't hear it clearly but it is in the Sunday Times and the Sunday Herald today as 34,719. Can't say I heard one during the second half but I certainly heard it announced after the final whistle as I was leaving. ...

Re: SCOTLAND CAPTAIN

It was definitely Russell Martin.

Only one home based Scot (Mulgrew) in the 14 players involved. And after he was sent off there were none left on the pitch.

Re: Club Managers

Jim McIntyre departs Queen of the South for the Ross County job after 15 generally successful months in charge.

Not officially confirmed yet but James Fowler will take caretaker charge I expect and in so doing become the 5th successive ex-Kilmarnock player to take charge of us.
