Broadfoots latest

Derek Johnstone got it wrong in the latest Evenings Times about the goal he scored at Tannadice within the first minute that clinched the league title and the second leg of the treble in 1978 when in fact it was 1976. So even people who actually do the deed ,sometimes get their facts mixed up with o...

Of course, the Hampden matches against England were shown live in the eary 60s and in the club scene the Rangers V Red Star Belgrade EC playoff from Highbury broadcast the second half live. Possibly the second half of the Rangers V Real Madrid game could also have been. I seem to remember reading in...

And whilst we are on the subject of the Intercontinental Cup, You tube, Man Utd V Estudiantes and see what George Best had to put up with and you really cant blame him for getting sent off, and his retaliation is mild to the punishment he took.

Barcelonas answer to Queens Park

Loved the setting, I googled it after I read what you posted, and it looks like they even have a car park under the pitch, as the pitch looks elevated .. It would be my type of surrounding for watching a nuetral game with a few beers but I would need some Scottish humour thrown in.

Mortons record Home attendance

Beside the European Cup Semi Final with Leeds did Celtic get more for the game against Racing Club at Hampden, than their Parkhead ground record against Rangers. I know they didnt reach that figure for the 1971 European Cup tie at Hampden, V Ajax or remotley near it v Rosenborg Trondheim. a year lat...

Mortons record Home attendance

Well having a quick glance through the 1st Rothmans book I grabbed hold of, it seems the Rangers game at Tynecastle never even beat their first League Cup sectional tie at home to Albion Rovers in 1974 where the attendance is given as 4000 ( The dreaded three zero's again ) ,but yes Meadowbanks home...

If anyone knows, why was the Thirds V Celtic game moved to Hampden , I would love to know , was it down to (a) stadium reconstruction /development (B) Wanting a bigger crowd ( c ) bad playing surface or (d ) some other reason. My way of thinking is it couldnt be (b) as the replay was generally 4 day...
