Gourock Thistle play in Division Two of the Scottish Amateur Football League. Apparently they play at Battery Park in Gourock. I'm tipping a St. Mirren win

Paul McDonald himself has written a response to my post. Not actually argued any of the points I've made, but he's attempted to defend his project.

David - I'm glad someone is as appalled by it as me. It looks more like he's setting up a boiler room than a football team. I've put a few links on my post to articles on MacDonald and his plan. It's a nonsense idea that appears to be just another scheme to make money out of the internet. It's unbel...

I was up at Fort William yesterday to take in their game against Deveronvale. Now, you may all be aware of the America's Team project that Fort seem to have got themselves involved in. I wonder though if you've seen the promotional video the company behind it have put together. I've embedded it into...

I'll bear the 86 Club in mind for next time.

It was a good game though and obviously, from what I saw anyway, you can take a carry-out in.

Down the Wing

I’m attempting to go to at least 50 games at all levels of football this season. As such I’ve set up a wee website to chronicle my attempts. Please feel free to have a look and comment.

Cheers

In 1980 Brighton's English forward Michael Robinson found having an Irish granny wasn't enough to qualify him to play for the Republic. However as her mother was Irish Robinson's mother could apply for Irish citizenship. Which in turn qualified him to play for Ireland. http://findarticles.com/p/arti...

The guy I remember doing the somersault or 'flip' throw-in was Rob Johnson of New York Metrostars in the mid-90s.

Here it is, but blink and you'll miss it.

As I recall from the stats in that feature Flo scored more goals in less games than Johnston. His Rangers career was always judged on the ludicrious transfer fee the Bears paid for him.

The second hand bookshop on Great Western Road, up from Kelvinbridge underground, the name of which escapes me, had a couple of these last time I was in. As did the book and music store in Ortego Lane, just round the corner from the above bookshop. City Centre Comics in the Saltmarket also has sever...

Edina Hearts

Can anyone give me a wee potted history of Edina Hearts? Had a quick look on Google and there doesn't seem to be much.
