Duntocher United

I was recently contacted by someone to see if I could help with a medal he had in his possession. It is a gold medal with Dumbartonshire Juv FA on the front and "Won By Duntocher United 1912-13 Wm Dempster" on the reverse. I assume it is a Dumbartonshire Juvenile Cup winners medal. Anyone know any f...

Scottish Junior Cup pre-1960

As some of you may know, I have been researching results in the Scottish Junior Cup. I have everything from 1960 to date and am down to a fairly small queries list for the 1940s and 1950s, much of it being from the Aberdeen/shire and other northern parts of the country as well as the Campbeltown are...

Re: Strathclyde Juniors

Despite the short notice they were very anxious to keep going and asked the S.J.F.A. for permission to play at East Kilbride Juniors ground in 1965-66, thelatter having disbanded. The S.J.F.A. were only agreeable on the condition that Strathclyde would find a Glasgow ground for season 1966-67 and s...

Scottish Football in the Victorian Era

I have just published a new booklet – Victorian Scottish Football Miscellany. This is the first issue of what I hope, in time, will become a series on the much-neglected pre-1900 era. Included are the playing records of the member clubs for a decade from 1875 and then again for the first few years o...

History of Dennistoun Waverley

A history of the Glasgow junior club is to be published later this month, costing, I believe, £3. It has been compiled by Brian Reilly who did the Maryhill and Marhill Harp/Hibs books. I will give more details here when I get them.

The end of reserve football ?

From the BBC website today. The Scottish Premier League has confirmed they are considering ending reserve football next season. Cowlairs FC history - now available again

I published a 56 page history of this club, a founder member of the Scottish League club, in 1991 and despite the club having then been defunct for almost a century it sold well and has now been unavailable for a few years. I have now done a small reprint of these, which are noted as such. Price is ...
