I was at Lochee on Saturday with Arthurlie and have to say they treated us superbly. How the game took place yesterday I have no idea, the park was ............ even before the game it was black almost totally void of grass!

Some good point, what seems to be the case in Scotland especially is that chairmen go with the tried and tested even if they havent been successful in the past, its like "oh they must be good or the last lot wouldnt have employed them" Either that or going with ex players who have no experiance at a...

I find it strange when many managers seem to stumble from one job to another without actually being successfull. I alsways love the special ones statment when asked if he was rich. James McQuade

Im looking for some info on James McQuade, he signed for St Mirren from Neilston in 1949 but on Listers discs he then went to Forfar but I have been told he ended up playing at some point in France with Rennes but cant find any mention of this. Can anyone help?

Does anyone have any infrmation about Jimmy Whyte who played for Morton and Airdrie in the 40's and 50's? I have his appearances from Lister but wondered if anyone had any more information on him.

Does any one have any info on him? I believe he played for Kilsyth Rangers then Airdrie and Leeds but I cant find him on anything I have.

Im not even sure what era he played as it was someone in my local who said he was related to him.

I know what you mean. I did the tour and was speaking to one of the guys there. I had a couple of notebooks with me that he said they would be very interested in borrowing for their junior section, I emailed and as it seems with everyone else .................... no reply!

I have just dug out some match reports from the 1930's and have Kelly playing his last game for Arthurlie on Friday 17th June 1938 against Johnstne in their Hospital Charity Cup. Also on Kerrydae Street they have him as signing for Celtic in the November? Im off to the library! hahaha
