Re: Games on consecutive days

Queen's Park travelled to Alloa on Sunday 6th March 1977 for a Scottish Cup replay, both teams having played a league match the day before. Queen's had won at Cowdenbeath whilst Alloa had won at Forfar, and Alloa won the replay by the only goal of the match.

Re: Club Managers

New head coach @ Hampden is...Gus McPherson! - as of 22nd January 2014. He`s Queen`s Park`s 13th coach since Eddie Turnbull(the first) in 1963. The last two, Billy Stark & Gardner Speirs, held the post for the last 9 years so Gus`s tenure looks secure for the nex few years. A win @ Peterhead on Sat...

Re: Comprehensive List of Matches at Hampden?

Finally, the one I find most difficulty to quantify - Queen's Park league matches. Their first was on October 31st 1903 and their last (for a while at any rate) November 23rd 2013. That's a straight 1870 games but of course they've played at Lesser Hampden a number of times. I have the Hampden figu...

The 12/05/1861 is his correct DoB, I checked it at Scotland's People when I was through doing some research.

Born in Govan, died 18/05/1931 in Cathcart.

Re: Players details wanted

Looking for assistance in expanding the following players profiles; PAUL FERGUSON Woles Boys' Club Queen's Park 1992-1999 Baillieston Thanks in advance for any assistance. QP Stats as given above, left sided defender/midfielder, the term "injury plagued" was probably invented with him in mind. A re...

Re: Early Scotland internationalists - new details

Perhaps a first step towards a new Who's Who is for me to list the players for whom I have no clues at all for birth or death information, and in a few cases not even a first name. If anyone can provide some clues to these people, such as an address, an obituary, or a middle name, it would be appre...

Re: Glasgow Charity Cup Semi-final 1926

If anyone has the 'Men with the educated feet' book by Forrest Robertson, they could check if the Queen's Park line-up is available from 8th May 1926. If so then there must be a source somewhere out there. Or perhaps Forrest could offer some advice directly? The same would apply to the Celtic compl...

Re: Glasgow Charity Cup Semi-final 1926

Struggling for information on this match as well, from the Scotsman I have the scorers for this game as McAlpine (2) & Nicholson for Queen's, with Kennedy and Crawford scoring for Clyde, and an approx crowd of 6,000.

No idea as to the half time score or the Clyde team I'm afraid.

Not sure how they've managed to put QP in there, as Leatherstocking said previously the committee are meeting tonight to decide.
