Spain to beat England in the final?

There's a supposed prophecy by Nostradamus doing the rounds. From The Guardian's Fiver "In the sixth month of 2006 the King of Spain will cross the Pyrenees with his troops. The legions of Beelzebub will battle him in central Europe but the evil ones will suffer doom and destruction. The Holy Grail ...

Having said that there has to be some sort of award for Jonathan Pearce tonight for this brammer. "He's the only player at these finals who was alive in 1966 - when England won the World Cup."

You think that's bad. You should have heard Kevin Gallacher on Five Live last night. It was Sven this, Wayne that. Crawler! His co-commentator was dreadful too. Kept going on about how he had to go to A&E with a cut thumb and not being able to speak German. Beats me how wome people think the radio c...

I'll bet the Huns were in a right quandary tonight with Gattuso on one side and Reyna on the other. Not to mention Pope playing for the Yanks and Italy now being run by a Prodi. :)

SPL website having a laugh

Have a look at the SPL website All the dates for the season just gone are in German and that's just the start. Click on the club pages. Celtic's brings up Rugby Park. Dunfermline and Dundee United share Tannadice. Motherwell's was East End Park but when I clicked it again it brought up the reserver ...

Aye, don't go to the old channel number on Sky mate. All it shows now are Under-21 games. At least I think that's what 18PLUSXXX means

Tribute To Jinky

BBC 1 Scotland will be showing 'Lord Of The Wing' the Jimmy Johnstone tribute film on Friday 17th March at 9pm. Viewers outside Scotland can access this on Sky on channel 971. Remember that's 971, not 941 as it used to be.

RIP the wee man. For me his best game was against Red Star Belgrade. Wee Jinky was scared of flying so Jock Stein promised he could stay at home for the second leg if the Yugoslavs got a good enough cuffing at Celtic Park. Jinky played the game of his life as Celts won 5-1 and, sure enough, he staye...

Thanks Eck

Apparently next season's Scottish champions will qualify automatically for the Champions League on account of the bonus point earned last night for a draw.

PERFECT. A boost for Scottish football and they STILL got knocked out :)

So there was a Port Glasgow Juniors at the same time as the seniors. Two different teams but the juniors became the seniors when the original disbanded?

And the post-war juniors are no relation to the pre-war ones?

And would you believe the Alaves president is yet another from the former USSR. Ukrainian-born but later a triple jumper for the USA.

Triple Jump? More an expert at the high jump - making other people take it that is.
