Before my time. My father was there. My first match at Cathkin was in 1961One of the older members of Glasgow Hearts thought he would only ever have seen Hearts win a trophy when he supported the Opposition at the League Cup Final in 1959

If you've got the disk with post-war appearances you should cut and paste into a blank spreadsheet then sort by club, player then season. That's a halfway house to getting those with over 300 for one club as you'll be able to see at a glance which players were at which club for any length of time an...

So my conspiracy theory's right AND wrong. Right, cos there's no mention of a second round draw but wrong cos the top two in round one would always get a bye so there was no reason to leave it this late. Maybe they just forgot. Do you think Channel 5 will be up for Morton v Ayr :D That looks like th...

Sorry, maybe I didn't make myself clear enough. By problem I meant precisely what you're saying. The knock-on effects of a disparate relegations (e.g. three east teams go down) would have to be absorbed by the level below and wouldn't make any difference to promotion. This is what happens in England...

All in favour of a pyramid but four feeders is surely one too many. I'd go for three - North/Highland, West/South, East/South. That makes for three down and the winners of the three feeders going up. Under your proposals ten of the current 42 SPL/SFL sides would have to drop out. For argument's sake...

Sel-ECK-tive memory
I see McLeish is getting his excuses in early, saying just getting into the Champions League will be achievement enough. And this from the manager of a team that's SEEDED in the qualifiers? I love his quote "We knew CSKA were a good side, just as we knew the Feyenoord team we lost to two years previ...

Well, we'll see, won't we? The guy is lightning fast and has always looked the part any time I've seen him. Let's be blunt about it. The SPL is nowhere near the standards of the English Premiership so this is a chance for him to show what he can do. Plus he'll get European experience too. If Wenger ...
