Re: Scottish Counties Cup 1923-1941

I've got a question mark over the Fife v Scottish Welfare game from 1928/9 as being either at Starks Park or Dunnikier juniors park. And had the 1926/7 semi final between Stirlingshire and Fife at Firs Park.

1937/8 semi final 23rd Apr at Forthbank Stirlingshire 2-2 Perthshire

John Lamb Hibs player 1909-14

Does anybody have career details on this player after he left Hibs? According to the fitbastats site which details Hibs players he signed for Broxburn United but I am trying to get comfirmation if he is the same player that played for Dunfemline Athletic during the 1920/1 season.

Re: Alexander Stewart goalkeeer Falkirk and others1908-1927

In the line up for Cowdenbeath for their game v Armadale in the Penman cup semi final on 17/11/17 Stewart (Falkirk) is in goal. He doesn't seem to have played for them before this match. Other games he seems to have played/not played/?? that season for Cowdenbeath 24th Nov Eastern League v Raith Rov...

Re: Junior Internationals - Scotland v England

Noticed this on London Hearts from (Easter Monday) 25th March 1940. http://londonhearts.com/scores/images/1940/1940032506.jpg Notably it isn't given in the SJFA Centenary History by McGlone & McClure so potentially it mightn't be the only wartime fixture? EDIT: Infact it's quite strange as McGlone ...

Re: Players who were men of the cloth

I've just finished reading a book on the history of Liverpool football club and it mentions a James Jackson who they signed from Aberdeen. It says he studied Greek and philosophy at Cambridge University and was ordained as a Presbyterian minister in 1933, he officiated at the funeral of a Liverpoool...

Re: Players who were men of the cloth

i seem to remember when going through the Dundee Courier from the 1930's that there was an ex Third Lanark player who ended up as a monk down in England,. I'll check to see if I still have the notes.
