I am away this weekend Alan, but, when I get back home, I will give it a go and send it to you.

Re: Alan Brown - New Forum Administrator

Good luck in your new role Alan.

And, to David - enjoy your new back bench role, and keep posting.

A wee query: does this mean "Alan Brown" is now "Scottish" or, will David continue with that identity?

Lugar Boswell Thistle

Delighted to report; "The Jaggy Bunnets" have been saved. Lugar Boswell Thistle seemed set to fold at the end of the season, with long-serving secretary Kenny Young being forced to give-up the role and not enough other committee members to form a quorum. However, the Cumnock Chronicle reports this ...

Re: Question for Scottish re Saxone Youth Club

As I recall, playing schools football back in the late 1950s and early 1960s, there were not that many boys club teams in Ayrshire at the time. At Cumnock Academy, we had two levels of schools football. We played against the local Junior Secondaries - Auchinleck, Catrine, Drongan, Glaisnock House, ...

Re: Question for Scottish re Saxone Youth Club

I am sure Scottish will give you a full answer to your questionsAten. I would say, however, the top pitch at the Saxone ground, the one next to the road, was the best surface in Ayrsire, at a time when Rugby Park was widely held to have the best pitch in senior football. The Saxone pitch was a joy ...

I must admit, I never thought of that Bobby, although, especially when the 'bot and Scumnock meet, it is in a parallel universe.

What To Do Against Gibraltar

Gibraltar could be one of those games which make for hard work for the Tartan Army. We are expected to win, with goals to spare, something which has been beyond Scotland teams for many a long year. With Gibraltar (allegedly) selecting a specialist bus parker in their squad and WGS favouring a main ...

Re: Twenty Years ago today

David, I appreciate you, and more than a few other Killie fans, still feel let-down, angry even, at the manner of Tam's leaving Rugby Park. I have always felt, the offer of the Celtic manager's job was one he simply could not refuse. I do not blame him in the least for going, who knows, had he not ...

Scottish will hopefully confirm this, but, I always understood, Kilmarnock were sent as Scotland's representatives to the New York International tournament, rather than the Fairs Cup.

Re: First yellow card?

The use of the words: "red card" and "yellow card" in headlines and sub-headings does not mean an actual card was shown. Sub-editors, who write the headlines, are great employers of forms of shorthand, to get the message across in a given space. For instance, I keep reading stories of rugby XV capt...

Re: Lord Rosebery’s racing colours

Scotland wore the Rosebery colours when they played Finland, in Helsinki, on 25 May, 1954. This was the final game before the 1954 World Cup Finals, in Switzerland.

The wearing of the Rosebery colours is specifically referred to in the Glasgow Herald report on the game.
