Re: Mixu Paatelainen in comparison with other Killie bosses

Excellent article. Most impressive for me is the sheer quality of the football played that has impressed me most.At 45yo I cannot recall haviung seen such an exciting brand of football from Killie. There is also a "feel good" factor around the club at the moment which reminds me of the Tommy Burns/B...

Re: League reconstruction

I really cannot understand why such a proposal would come from the SPL and Neil Doncaster? It may benefit the OF in a small way although I fail to understand what benefits it would bring to Scottish football.it will just create a bigger divide between the OF and the rest when it is rejeceted. It can...

Re: Spot The Difference

Lawwell has made himself and his club look foolish once again! However it is not entirely clear whos decision it was to postpone the game on Thursday? It would appear that the Police stated the game would not have been allowed to proceed on Thursday but were prepared to wait before making a decision f...

Another classic in todays Record, which I read in the barbers! Next to the article on Mark Mcghees disgraceful treatment of Mitch Megginson there is a picture of the killie scorer Jamie Hamill with the caption "Megginson:Mistake". Actually more worrying is what Mcghee says about the 18yo lad. "I hope...

OF home games have smaller market since 50,000 or so of the potential viewers are at the ground watching it... SPL clubs have no say on what TV picks/the OF have no veto: but TV pick economically-sensible matches. I have to disagree strongly with this. OF home games are by and large kept off the sc...

the fixtures clearly show the blatant disregard the SPl administrators have for supporters of the "lesser" clubs. If it can be arranged to have the OF and Edinburgh Derby on 1st Jan ther they should be able to more fan friendly. If they said that fixtures could not be changed to ensure sporting inte...

The fixtures are once again a disgrace. That will be three times iun 6 seasons Killie have been to Inverness in 6 seasons.Add a trip to Aberdeen in another season and it proves the SPL dont care about the fans of non OF clubs. if they can organise the dates of the OF and Edin derbies then surely the...

I quite like the idea of a downloadable version of the matchday programme. Many clubs do have "apps" and I am sure it could easily be adapted. However the programme is a usefull source of revenue both from sales and advertising so I cannot see it dissapearing altogeather. Also what would the program...

Re: Walter Smith's achievements

Houston is in good company. Among the big names of management with just one Scottish Cup to their name are William Wilton, David McLean, Tommy Walker, Eddie Turnbull, Tommy Burns and Gordon Strachan. Houston is the first 'new' winning boss since John Collins won the League Cup with Hibs in 2007. Of...

Stramash-Daniel Gray

Stramash!: A Ramble Through Scotland's Towns and Teams by Daniel Gray Fatigued by bloated big-game football , historian Daniel Gray went in search of small town Scotland and its teams. Part travelogue, part history and part being accosted in a strange Alloa pub, Stramash! takes an uplifting and insi...

In my time watchin g football i dont think I recall any away fans coming to Rugby Park who CONSISTENTLY support their own team well. Generally smaller teams going to so called bigger teams provide the best support for their team. I was rather dissapointed by the 300 odd Aberdeen fans at Rugby Park o...

I really don't understand what has happened to BBC Sportsound. Only Richard Gordon and Craig Patterson are worthy of a place on the show.I also think Pat Nevin is decent on his rare appearances on the show. Preston,Robertson and Ferguson really are a joke as far as broadcasters go. I think a lot of ...
