Re: Rangers Crowds Analysed

Reporting ticket sales rather than attendees is clouding the issue now; it's like the tories and their seasonally adjusted unemployment figures. EG Hearts are supposedly the second best supported SPL team by quite a way, but in their last home game I've heard a figure of 6405 quoted as being inside ...

Re: towns with most internationalists

There's another thread on here about the 'Bellshill Phenomenon' which is as simple as there being a maternity hospital there.

Re: Earliest booking

Funny you should ask David:

http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-109713111.html
HIBERNIAN FC ball girl Nicola Oldroyd, 15, has been banned from the ground after fourth official Hugh Dallas - yes him with the white stick from the Old Firm match - reported her for telling referee Stuart Dougall that he …

Re: Earliest booking

I've a feeling that Neale Cooper of Aberdeen was booked v Celtic in something like 10 seconds. No idea to trace it though.

Re: Robert Copeland McKenzie

Not necessarily going to help you much, but John Litster's original pre war disk has a Robert McKenzie playing for Albion Rovers in 1907/08, and then Robert C McKenzie playing for Morton, Queens Park before moving onto Clyde on 15/11/1912. No mention of Rangers.

Re: WWII Falkirk FC Players

Funny you should mention that... I'm looking at the Glasgow Herald from Sep 1st 1986 and there's an article Bellshill: a rich seam of football talent "Bellshill may like other towns have been hit by the recession, but they are still managing to produce football players as Ray Hepburn discovered when...

Re: Biggest comeback

The most remarkable game I ever went to was a Sheffield United v Brighton game around 1990. Sheffield United were 3-0 up before Brighton came back to go 4-3 up. The blades scored two goals in the last ten minutes to win 5-4. In the 1880s Hibs drew 4-4 after being 4-0 up in the Scottish Cup, and more...

Re: Scotland Replacement Captains

I reckon that Scotland V Egypt at Pittodrie was the infamous game where Gary Gillespie ended up wearing the captains armband as a wristband after it had been passed about as no one seemed to know who was capitain after McLeish was subbed - injured I think. Best bet for these would be video I reckon?...

Re: A marvellous little device - Copycat Handheld Scanner

I'm looking at getting a mobile scanner so that I can scan in some books that I've given up ever reaching kindle. Will it work? I've tried on a flat bed, but I find it's awfy difficult not to damage the spine.

Any suggestions?

I think I've read that they got to keep it after the final tourney in 1980, I'm sure you have too. Bizarre really considering that both themselves and Hibs won it twice.

Re: First time ever Edinburgh & Dundee Derbies in the Cup

Another minor curiosity...

This is only the second time that Hibs have played at Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup, the last time being in 2001.

Danny Wilson and suspensions

This http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21239532 seems to be rumbling on. Can anyone think of another player that has gone down to England with a league cup or Scottish Cup ban and if they served the ban in the league - or at all? I checked Ivan Sproule who left Hibs with a 4 game league ban in 2...

Maybe they used the Rangers/Celtic 2012 method of counting tickets?
