Re: Debate over actual attendances

At Saracen Park/Ashfield Stadium in the 1960s I used to pay 1 Shilling at the boys gate and then inside the ground pay another 6d for the transfer to the stand. The stand had no outside turnstyles. For those of you to young 6d was 2 and a half pence in pre decimal days.

Re: Merits of Three Points for a Win?

I find it wrong ,that say, after four games and you are unbeaten ,but have drawn them all and another team thats played four and won and lost two games each, are two points better off than your team. Whereas if you both had 4 points each it looks a closer contest at least on the league table.

Re: John Hughes of the SFA

John Hughes was killed in a car accident around the early seventies, he played junior football for possibly Petershill around wartime. I knew someone out here in New Zealand who knew and played along side him, but this person has since passed away. I seem to remember Alex Ferguson having something t...

Re: Colour clashes

Living here in NZ as I have on and off for the last 38 years , once just once before I die I would love to see Scotland beat the ABs, but to tell you the truth I have been totally turned off, of Rugby living here by the Rugby fans nature here, I love to see most NZ sports persons do well, but I abso...

When the interviewer was asking the two pidgeon fancier brothers about the burds, I half expected Frank Mc Avennie doing a walk on part.

Re: Colour clashes

That brings to mind the Celtic V Leeds ,European Cup semi final clash at Hampden in 1970 both sides were ready to go out on the park, when it was discovered that they both had white socks and it was to late to dash across the city to Parkhead for a change Celtic borrowed the Yorkshire teams change s...

On the subject of Frank McGarvey, was he capped not long after his move to Anfield possibly in the close season ? and on the subject of maternity hospitals the same could be said of Bellshill.

Re: Goal line technology

Of Course they should have it ,apart from the actual fact of ,was it a goal ,or wasnt it, when a sport accepts bets on its outcome it has to be fair to the punters also , wether you are a fan of that team or not, if you still betted on the outcome, as in photo finishes in racing, television ref's in...
