Thanks, there was only a mention of the game on the 25th September in the Herald but nothing at all in the Times ,that I could find. The next day ,I couldnt find a match report or even the result, in either paer.

Colin Suggett currently works as a scout in England ,so the money owed could possibly be for fees and/or expenses whilst doing some work on Rangers behalf.

The problem with the 14 club 7-7 split (all be it, minor ) is as you said it gives you 38 league fixtures , same as it is now but its spread over 40 playing days, having to add an extra 2 playing days to the current football callendar would be cramming things a bit. Southport 1 Stirling Albion 1. But I have the date as Wednesday 5th August and thats from the book, Stirling Albion 1945-1988. Cant help with the other result.
