Would anyone have the result of the friendly match at Cathkin between Third Lanark and Inverness Caladonian/Clachnacuddin Select. This was played on the eve of the Scotland V England match.

If you think the Penman Cup is hard to research, you should try the Dewer Shield , the 1953/54 Final 2nd leg was played on the 28/4/1956 . The match report is on the back page of the Evening Times for that date. Who gets to take the trophy home?

Yea ,the date was the 15th . Uganda played Tanganika on the 14th.

As you say , one was missed and scored from the rebound. A quick glance at the Rangers Football Companion by David Docherty which gives team lineups scorers etc from the war, credits Johnston with 3 penalties in the game ,which is obviously wrong.

Willie Johnston scored a hat-trick of penalties at Muirton Park on the 6th of November 1971 final score was 4-1 to Rangers scorers were St Johnstone Pearson 87th. Rangers Johnstone 53rd pen,73rd pen,84th pen and McDonald 55th.
