Albion Rovers exhibition at Summerlee Heritage Centre

Post by ScottishFA » Thu Jul 11, 2019 2:36 pm

I just visited the exhibition at Summerlee Heritage Centre in Coatbridge, to mark 100 years of Albion Rovers at Cliftonhill: https://culturenl.co.uk/summerlee-exhibitions/

It's main feature is the photos by Iain McLean, who has been documenting the club and its fans for several years, but there are several display cases with historic memorabilia and a film.

Well worth a trip, especially as admission and parking are free, and you can wander round the machinery and permanent displays too. It's open until 27 October.

Make sure you visit the shop. Iain McLean's photo book is on sale at £10. But even better, they are selling off copies of Robin Marwick's 1986 history of the club for just 50p.

I bought a copy of Robin's book yonks ago and it is well thumbed! Any historian worth their salt should snap this up pronto.
