I'm led to believe that Stirling Albion played a league game v East Fife in January 1950 at Recreation Park Alloa, and this game attracted 11,000 making it the record league crowd for a game at that venue.

Just wondering if it true that the biggest crowd for a league game at Recreation park didn't involve Alloa

That's an estimated figure. Might be a bit higher or a bit lower in which case Alloa's league game v Celtic in 1922-23 is also a contender. That drew 10,783 though estimates at the time gave a figure of 15,000.
