Best League 'Streaks'

Post by Sat31March1928 » Mon Sep 29, 2008 7:11 am

I've put together the best streaks for each team in the League.

e.g.

Celtic won 26 consecutive home games

Dunfermline hold the SPL record of 5 successive draws in 1998-99.

If you read Sat31March1928's exellent data compilation, you will note that that the Scottish Premier DIVISION record for consecutive draws is held by St Johnstone at 7 consecutive draws.

St Johnstone 1 of 7 1992-93 P A 27 Mar 1993 Airdrieonians D 1-1
St Johnstone 2 of 7 1992-93 P A 06 Apr 1993 Hibernian D 2-2
St Johnstone 3 of 7 1992-93 P H 10 Apr 1993 Celtic D 1-1
St Johnstone 4 of 7 1992-93 P A 17 Apr 1993 Falkirk D 2-2
St Johnstone 5 of 7 1992-93 P H 24 Apr 1993 Motherwell D 0-0
St Johnstone 6 of 7 1992-93 P H 01 May 1993 Dundee D 1-1
St Johnstone 7 of 7 1992-93 P A 08 May 1993 Aberdeen D 1-1

followed by Celtic 6, Hibernian 6.

Dunfermline DID as you state achieve 5 consecutive draws in Scottish Premier LEAGUE season 1998-99.

Are any of these statistics something to be proud of?

I knew Hibs would be up there. Bertie Auld will be jealous that Alex Miller pipped him to the record.

Hey, I was stunned that there were only two nil-nils in the Hibs streak. No fewer than THREE 2-2 draws. Take a bow, Lexo.

Apologies if this isn't the best place to post this, but Clyde are currently on a six-game run of consecutive league draws (a club record), the last four of which have been 0-0 (again a club record). Apparently if we draw 0-0 up at Elgin on Saturday we equal the "World Record".

If I'm reading the chart right (via the links) then St Johnstone still hold the Scottish record with 7 consecutive draws, with quite a few teams on 6 draws just behind them.
