In terms of overcoming 2 goal deficits. Scotland rank a respectable 12th in winning countries.

I've now added in a page per season. Summaries of each seasons results are on the main pages.
In terms of 'ties' won 1982-83 was the most succesful season
1966-67 in second place.
NB I include the 'Super Cup' as part of 1982-83.

First, can I say that this is an excellent resource (as is so much of London Hearts) and is particularly useful for me as it includes the dates of fixtures.
A couple of wee queries: (1) might you intend to do something similar for the Texaco/AngloScottish Cup in future?; (2) Celtic's Intercontinental Cup tie, worthy of inclusion as nowhere else to go?; (3) Women's UEFA Cup...?
Also are your attendance figures from RSSF/the press/or is there a book? I know there are a series of books by Romeo Ionescu (about 10 covering all competitions and years) but at £20 each I've not splashed out on them.

1 - I have all the results so should be straightforward. Something to do on the train journey to Zagreb this week.HibeeJibee wrote:First, can I say that this is an excellent resource (as is so much of London Hearts) and is particularly useful for me as it includes the dates of fixtures.

2 - Good thinking I'll include them as well.

A few observations:
Surely Aberdeen's Super Cup should be 1983-84 not 82-83? The Super Cup is contested in the season following European success.
Rangers v Ajax. This is tricky as while obviously the forerunner of the Super Cup it was not an official competition. Yet we have no problem in calling Scotland v England in 1872 an international in similar circumstances.
Celtic v Racing Club should be included somewhere and I have it as part of my 1967-68 records in my Celtic European file.
The Texaco/ASC is clearly worthy of inclusion in any set of records as it as clubs entered it on merit (at least in Scotland anyway).
UEFA used to provide limited crowd information (from circa 1990 IIRC) on their website but stopped doing so some years ago when they revamped their site. Now they only seem to include crowd figures from the Champions League group stages onwards.
Romeo Ionescu's crowd figures for some Scottish games differ considerably from those previously published (his are usually higher) and there is no reason to think the same doesn't apply to other countries. My rule is to accept the most authoritative source so in this instance that means accepting Romeo Ionescu's figures where either none previously exist or he has an exact figure where there was previously a round figure.
The IFFHS published a book on the years 1955-60 with detailed match stats including attendances. This was supposed to be the start of a series but I'm unaware of any others.

Personally I'd regard the SuperCup as 1983-84 - not 1982-83. OK, in that Aberdeen qualify for the SuperCup by merit of winning the Cup-Winners' Cup in 1982-83... but they qualified for the Cup-Winners' Cup through the Scottish Cup of 1981-82... so under that theory CWC & ESC are 1981-82!!
I'd include Rangers v Ajax... I don't see the situation with the first edition of the European SuperCup as markedly different to Fairs Cup/UEFA Cup, or International Football Cup/Intertoto Cup (not that the latter affects us here in Scotland). "Up for the Cup" (Jon Ladd) counts Rangers v Ajax too.
Personally I don't grant Intertoto special status, but admit many others do.
