Can anyone help?

Post by footie widow » Wed Nov 16, 2005 8:57 am

Hi,
I'm trying to find the whereabouts of the William Leggatt Trophy.

It was named after my partners' Grandfather. Willie was a match official in the 1966 World Cup and was a huge figure in Jeuvenile football untill he died in 1979.

If anyone knows where the trophy is please reply, this would mean a great deal to my family.

Many thanks.

Hi there. I'm presuming that because of your partner's grandfather's involvement with juvenile football that the trophy was played for at that level?

Youth tournaments were run under the auspices of the Scottish Juvenile FA until 1999 when that body merged with the youth section of the Scottish Amateur FA and the Association of Scottish Youth Football Clubs to form the Scottish Youth Football Association. Their website http://www.scottishyouthfa.co.uk/ might be the best place to look. There are contact details on the site home page. Good Luck.
