Killie v Rangers - November 1960
A pleasure to help (in this instance anyway). This match was less than a month after Killie had lost 2-0 to Rangers in the League Cup Final and after just 35 minutes they were 2-0 down again thanks to Davie Wilson (14) and Ian McMillan (35). Jackie McInally pulled one back five minutes from half-time and two minutes later Andy Kerr equalised.
Score stayed at 2-2 till Hugh Brown nabbed the winner five minutes from the end to give Killie their third league victory at Ibrox in five seasons and their last for 33 years.
Rangers: Niven, Shearer, Caldow, Davis, Paterson, Baxter, Scott, McMillan, Millar, Brand, Wilson
Kilmarnock: McLaughlan, Richmond, Watson, Davidson, Toner, Kennedy, Black, Brown, Kerr, McInally, Muir
Crowd estimated at 55,000
Killie were second in the table and this win narrowed the gap with leaders Rangers to one point though Rangers had a game in hand.
