Online Archive
Re: Online Archive
I've done Queen of the South 1933-38 and am doing Airdrieonians 1920-30. To date I've reached October 1928. Anyone downloading these files from Brian's site (the Airdrie one won't be posted until I've finished 1929-30) should be aware that some seasons are incomplete and should download the accompanying notes with them.

Yeah, but you should promote your scottish football archive tumblr blog more, I'm a fan of tumblr, and LinkMünki [that's me] is now following youdegsy wrote:Rob,

Bobby Sinnet of of ihibs.co.uk has graciously forwarded me his database of all Hibs' games from 1893-1939. I've emailed the address to Allan who'll forward it to all others involved.

Re: Online Archive
Hi sorry for being quiet on this. I've got a bit side tracked from league games.I think "StAndrewsHMFC" was going to contribute his Leith Athletic research towards the project.
I have line-ups for the victorian top flight games, and a fair number of the 2nd division games, hope to get along to the library in the next couple of weekends to finish off the division one games and will e-mail the file to Brian.

Re: Online Archive
I've put together an (incomplete) list of data items that I capture.
Have a look at the data items and please suggest any additions or changes.
I'll then look at producing some suggested 'templates' for data capture
I've grouped them by different tabs
Match
Players
Scorers
Discipline
Penalties Saved
Lines coloured in Yellow are 'mandatory'
Pink can be at least derived from other master sources if present e.g. the Unique name for a player
see
http://www.londonhearts.com/aamain/data_layout.htm
I've presented it as 'Team 1' or 'Team 2' . Most of us will have the stats from a single team perspective
I.e in an Edinburgh Derby
My records would have for 1st Jan 1973
the score as '0-7'
the result as a 'L'
venue Type as 'H'
Bobby S it would be the reverse '7-0', 'W' and 'A'
I'll post up some more later on suggestions as to how we can gradually build up a unified database of Scottish Results

Barry Stevens has cleared up some of the missing data in the Clyde and St Mirren files. I've also completed Renton's file for the 1890s, this is available via the usual site address.

Brian has been posting out updates but I haven't seen one for a while. He is still updating his own site regularly, last update being June 4th.caskie wrote:Whats happened to this guys? Do you have a link for your 1917-26 material? I couldn't find it from your signature link.

Re: Online Archive
Thanks. Unfortunately (and I suspect I'm not alone here) I can't open .xlsx files. Is there any way of converting them to .xls?

Re: Online Archive
Caskie, I had a look at your Clydebank file and I should be able to fill some of the gaps for season 1917/18.
I will add them to your spreadsheet and e-mail it back to you if you pm me your e-mail address.
David, I haven't had much free time lately to put together the pre war stats. I have almost completed St Mirren
1890-1920 and will forward this to Brian soon.

Alan,
Same here regarding free time. I simply can't take on any more at the moment.
Re: Online Archive
I've sent out an updated email (which now includes Clydebank's record) to all those involved in the Project.

Does anyone on here have line-ups for East Stirling for any years prior to 1939?
