Sad Week In Ayrshire

Post by Snuff » Wed Oct 28, 2015 8:58 pm

These are sad times for both of Ayrshire's senior clubs.

Legendary Ayr United centre forward Peter Price, the only player to score more than 200 goals for the Honest Men has died; as has Matt Watson, the wonderful left-back in the great Kilmarnock team which won the League in 1965.

Sad news. At last Saturday's 2nd Round Junior Cup match between Broxburn Athletic and Whitletts Victoria a one minute silence was observed in memory of Peter Price who finished his playing career with the Ayrshire Junior side. Whitletts then proceeded to knock East Superleague Broxburn out of the Cup with a 3:1 win in one of the shocks of the 2nd Round.
