Sad to hear that Tommy Bryceland has passed away.

Obit here: http://www.saintmirren.net/pages/?p=51483 and you can see him scoring the opening goal for St Mirren in the 1959 Scottish Cup final on Pathe News: http://www.britishpathe.com/video/scott ... al-special

Obituary should be in tomorrow's Herald.

How did such a fine player manage to not even get an Under-23 cap? I realise, having your career run alongside that of John White is going to cut down on full international chances, but, he surely should have played for the Under-23s, or even the Scottish League XI.

Mind you, it is an excuse to drag up this team photo, which shows the 1962-63 St Mirren team in their highly fashionable striped shorts - an experiment never repeated by any Scottish team (as far as I know - please prove me wrong).

Jackie Cox was a big Beach Boys fan. Who knew : - O

I can't bring myself to desecrate Tommy's thread by posting the traumatic image, but this fashionably-challenged outfit sprung to mind:

Wow!!

I just love that St Mirren kit picture, as posted by Scottish FA.

I reckon that might catch-on with today's trendy young Buddies. Mind you, not the worst shorts design I've seen, I reckon Scotland's "sussies" shorts from the eighties still take th biscuit.
