Hello, I am new to the site so if this has already been asked then apologies.

I am currently doing some research on Arthurlie and came across some information that has thrown me slightly. I know Bob McPhail was a Barrhead man and his brother player for Arthurlie but as far as I was aware he played for Airdrie, Pollok, then Airdrie again before Rangers.

I found the following site http://www.rsssf.com/tabless/scottops-allt.html
Which lists him as having played at Arthurlie?

Can anyone throw any light on whether this is a mis type or infact true?

Thanks

Hi there and welcome to the forum. According to Douglas Lamming's 'Who's Who of Scottish Soccer Internationalists' Bob McPhail played one match for Arthurlie in November 1923. John Litster's disk of pre-war players has him signing for Airdrieonians on December 15th that year. He played nine league games for Airdrie that season, scoring once.
