Scottish teams v Romanian opposition in friendlies

Livi are playing Romanian side FC Uniera in a friendly at Almondvale on July 10.

Does anyone know of any other friendly games between Scottish and Romanian club sides?

All help appreciated!!!

I'm pretty sure Hearts played in a tournament in Bucharest in the early 90's but I dont think they actually faced Romanian opposition.

EDIT: it was in 1990, Steau Bucharest, Hearts, Brighton and RFC Liege. Hearts didn't play Steau Bucharest though.

Apparently Hearts played FC Cluj, the current Romanian champions a couple of years ago in Austria, too.

Paul Gascoigne made his Ibrox debut for Rangers in a friendly against Steaua Bucharest on July 29, 1995. Rangers won 4-0 with Gascoigne, Ian Ferguson, Hateley and McCoist scoring the goals. This was also a tournament with Tottenham and Sampdoria being the other sides involved. Steaua lost 3-2 to Tottenham the next day - having been 2-0 up.

Dundee played a Romanian club in a pre-season friendly at Dens Park about five years ago - I think it was National or Dinamo Bucharest, or maybe Rapid? Half the crowd was made up of Romanian migrant workers.

I recall once sitting having a beer in Bucharest Airport (as you do) wandering what sort of place Cluj was as it appeared on the departures board.

I'll go there one day.

Any truth in the rumours that FC Cluj are looking to sign Raphael Scheidt, Julio Arce & Rafael Van Der Vaart? I don't think they'll keep them off the bottom.

I've dug out the programme. It was Dundee v Rapid Bucharest, 2002/3, at Dens Park. I cannot remember the score, I'm afraid, and I was at the game. If it had been 30 years ago then I would have rattled off the score, scorers etc without hesitation, but six years ago - no chance!
