hi Guys
Researching the Old Firm during WW1. I've been through the usual web sites, books and newspapers and i am looking for perhaps personal recollections or family stories regarding the players who were around the clubs at the time. For example Charle Shaw owned a stationary shop at Bridgeton Cross subway station or Ebenezer Owers (Clyde + Celtic) was one of only two professional footballers who volunteered to join a West of Scotland Footballers Battalion at a meeting held in the Bank restaurant in Dec 1914. Any info or suggestions as to possible sources or contacts would be gratefully recieved.

For that period I'd try the Breedon history for Rangers and David Potter for Celtic. The latter should be able to be contacted through publishers of the several excellent books he has written on the club and players around this time.

Thank you for the reply. I will indeed try to track Mr Potter down.
