Does anyone know any details about the chap above? I am NOT sure of the spelling but ............... my better half was out last night and got talking to someone who said this was her dad and he had played for QPR among other sides. I had a look but cant find any record of him either as Crainie or Crainey Alex or Alexander.........
Any info would put my nosey mind at rest

The only player I can think of with that forename and a roughly similar surname is Alex Cairns who played for Kilmarnock and QoS in the early 1970s. Of course it's always possible that the player in question was on the books of QPR but didn't feature in the first team.

Just a wild suggestion - if said 'better half' isn't that familiar with the game, perhaps she confused QoS and QPR?

...or even Queen's Park?

According to the Litster disk, there was an Alec Carnie who joined Queen's Park in the summer of 1956, direct from King's Park School, but he never played a first team game. Born in 1939 - is that about the right age?
