Sanyford Thistle

I received this email recently and wondered if anyone could help. I suspect Sanyford (or poss Sandyford) Thistle were a juvenile club but would be grateful for any input:
hi there i hve these gold medals belonged to my great grandfather 1915-1916 sanyford thistle think it was juniors league l.j.f.a lanarkshire i,m sure do you know anything about this team i,d be greatful if can help

The jubilee history of the Lanarkshire Juvenile FA, published in 1950, lists Sandyford Thistle as winners of the LJFA Cup in 1913-14 and 1915-16.

I'm not sure exactly where they came from - best suggestion I can offer is that there is a Sandyford Farm near to Newhouse, just off the M8, and that area used to be riddled with coal mines and communities that have now disappeared.
