Congrats to Kris Boyd.
But was a second record set? Was this also the best score by a team down to ten men?

I suppose it is possible there have been games when one side has been winning by a barrowload and had a man sent off near the end.steve994 wrote:Congrats to Kris Boyd.

Two records he can claim:
First player to score five goals in a single game in the Premier Division/SPL on two occasions.
First player to score five goals in a single Premier/SPL game for two different clubs.
I'm sure leatherstocking will correct me if I'm wrong but I make that five times a player has scored five goals in a Premier/SPL game and on three of those occasions the team on the receiving end has been Dundee United - Marco Negri for Rangers Aug 23rd 1997, Kris Boyd for Kilmarnock v Dundee United Sep 25th 2004 (should have been six) & again for Rangers v Dundee United Dec 30th 2009.
The others are Paul Sturrock for Dundee United v Morton Nov 17th 1984 & Kenny Miller for Rangers v St Mirren Nov 4th 2000.

I once played a Sunday league match against the Haymakers - hardest pub team in Cambridge - we didn't get in their way too much and before long they were 8-0 up. Two of their forwards had a swedge at each other over a missed chance and the ref sent both of them off. Finished 10-2.
Does that count?
Does that count?
