Above is a pull out from the Sunday Mail of the day, to recognise the achievements of the Port Glasgow Rangers in 1934. They won back to back Scottish and Renfrewshire Cups, amongst others, and went through a full season unbeaten winning 78,drawing 4
Can anyone confirm what set up they would have been playing in, and what it would compare to today?

Cheers

They most probably were a Juvenile team, seeing as 2 of their players were capped in a Juvenile International.

Also the mention of 19 players signing for Junior clubs suggests those players have moved up a level so most likely Juvenile.

According to the Scottish Football Historical Archive site they were a Secondary Juvenile side.

Thats interesting. I read on that page that players up to the age of 27 could play secondary juvenile, and prior to that fathers and sons were allowed. Seems bizarre!
So I take it this Scottish Cup is no longer played for, what set up did the teams who won it latterly come from, were they underage , amateur or whatever?
